Karen
Bacica studied graphic arts and fashion illustration at the University of
Texas at Arlington and SMU. Karen freelanced using many different media
in creating her art, including pastel, charcoal, watercolor and oil. Her
fascination with people and faces inspires Karen to capture the essence
of each portrait.
Her specialty is creating moods by infusing each portrait with a unique
look and feel. Karen delights in combing several photographs to create a
special family portrait, (including pets!). Techniques include taking an
old cherished family photograph and creating a work of art in sepia tones
to produce an instant family heirloom.
Her newest venture is creating one-of-a–kind greeting cards,
capturing memories, including family members, pets, holiday scenes, your
home or any event with special meaning to you. These are perfect for Christmas
cards, announcements, weddings, births or any occasion. She works with you
to create a unique painting that will adorn your custom personalized cards.
